Why contractors move their waste to an account
The commercial reason is price: account load rates sit below our published domestic list because the rounds are predictable and the paperwork is batched. The compliance reason usually matters more. When a principal contractor or a client's insurer asks for evidence of lawful disposal, an account holder can produce a single dated pack for the whole month rather than hunting through emails for individual notes.
It also protects you from the most common enforcement scenario in Kent: waste from your job found fly-tipped, traced back through documentation to the producer. Section 34 puts that liability on the business that produced the waste, so a verifiable audit trail is the cheapest insurance available.
